About the show

The name

Shots at business, with some whiskey. There's a shot on the table, and the conversation is about shots taken: every big move in business is a shot. Aim and shoot, or you miss. Our first guest, the owner of The Barbershop, took three: he bought the barbershop, started teaching at a university and opened a second location where he rents out the chairs.

The idea

Part business-school case study, part conversation over a drink. The guest tells us where they aimed and what they hit, and we go through each shot: what the numbers say, which theory applies, and how not to shoot in the dark next time.

Theory meets practice

Business content tends to be either academic or pure gut feeling. Here the two meet: someone who knows the frameworks, across from someone testing them with their own money. Theory helps you aim; the market tells you whether you hit.

The host

Dimitar Vidolov talks shop with everyone, his barber included. Which is why the first guest is the barber.
